Iron Man 3 Footage Delights Lucky Fans

Iron Man 3 Footage Debuts
An "Iron Man 3" footage debuted at the San Diego Comic-Con at the weekend, delighting a lucky crowd at the Hall H.

The 5-minute footage was unveiled by the Marvel panel comprised of studio boss Kevin Feige, actor Robert Downey Jr., director Shane Black, and actor-director Jon Favreau.

The said "Iron Man 3" footage has not been made available online but here's IGN.com's description of the video they saw at the Comic-Con:
The clip began with Tony Stark playing with his new toys. His thought-controlled armor as he only has to gesture at his armor and/or give Jarvis a verbal command for the pieces to come flying at him. (We saw a bit of this in action in Avengers, remember?) That bit ends with a hero pose of Tony in his new silver and crimson armor.

We then see Tony video chatting with Happy Hogan (Favreau), who it's revealed is no longer Tony's head of security. He said he felt humiliated whenever he told people he was Iron Man's bodyguard. He also chided Tony for being part of the Super Friends now. That's when things took a decidedly more grim turn.

We see Pepper Potts with iron Man inside Tony's seaside mansion when BOOM! Attack helicopter fire missiles into Tony's Malibu, completely destroying it and the cliffside. The mansion collapses into the Pacific Ocean. Pepper's fate is unclear, but we see Iron Man sink into the ocean with all the rubble.

There's then a sizzle reel showing images of Guy Pearce as Killian, Rebecca Hall as Maya Hansen (Black confirmed that's the character), Don Cheadle back in action as Rhodey/War Machine, and William Sadler in a role that appeared to be that of The President. But the big reveal was the closing shots of Ben Kingsley as ... The Mandarin! Yes, folks, Marvel confirmed the character.

Kingsley's Mandarin has an American accent, a very affected one that sounded not unlike Agent Smith in The Matrix. He was decked out in his robe and his rings and had a weird beard and hairdo that, combined with his outfit, made him look like a mishmash of a samurai, an old rock star, a Klingon and a pharaoh. Like a true comic book villain, he even sat menacingly in his big chair.
It was also announced at Comic-con that "Iron Man 3" arrives in theaters on May 3rd, 2013. FULL STORY...

Iron Man 3 Footage Revealed At San Diego Comic-Con

Iron Man 3 Footage Unveiled
A footage of the widely anticipated "Iron Man 3" movie was shown by the Marvel panel at the Comic-Con 2012 in San Diego on Saturday, delighting thousands of fans present at the Hall H.

The 5-minute "hilarious" footage is, however, exclusive to Comic-Con and anyone seen filming it is reportedly removed from the convention and will be banned from Comic-Con. Hence, noone has uploaded the video online.

Here's Hollywood.com's description of the "Iron Man 3" footage:

"The opening scene features Stark (Downey Jr.) preparing for a new experiment. It's Christmastime and he sets the mood with a little hip-hop holiday music riff. Standing around his many armors, Stark commands his JARVIS computer to begin the test. Stark strikes a kung fu pose — nothing. He taps his forearm, trying to get something inside to work, before striking the pose again. Suddenly, from across the room, the Iron Man glove comes flying on to his arm. This is the Extremis in its beginnings, a type of armor ripped straight from the comics that allows Stark to control his Iron Man suit...with his mind. After the glove flies on to his arm, he tells Jarvis to let it rip. Pieces of armor start flying on to his body, but it's all starts happening too quickly. Now the metal braces are zipping every which way, breaking Stark's lab and forcing him to dodge like he's got Spidey sense. Eventually, all the pieces assemble on his body, save for the face mask. Turned upside and soaring straight at him, Tony does a flip in the air, rips his glove jets and clips the final piece of armor on upside in the air. Tony Stark: always a showboat.

"The rest of the footage was a trailer, opening with a comedic scene between Stark and former security guard, Happy (Jon Favreau). The two banter before Stark is startled by a boom. That's when a chilling voice-over by Ben Kingsley kicks in, set to images of mass destruction. "Some people call me a terrorist. I consider myself a teacher. Lesson number one: heroes there is no such thing." Scattered between shots of a city under attack are glimpses of newcomers Rebecca Hall and Guy Pearce, who looks especially slimy as he gives Pepper Potts (Gwyneth Paltrow) a kiss on the cheek. The grand finale is a helicopter attack on Stark's Malibu pad. Launching missles into the glass facade, Stark and Potts are blown backwards as the building begins to crumble into the ocean below. At some point, Stark gets the Iron Man armor on and attempts to survive the attack by going underwater. Whoever is behind this attack wants Stark dead (but that can't happen...right?!)"

Directed by Shane Black, "Iron Man 3" opens in theaters on May 3, 2013. FULL STORY...
