Jimmy Kimmel iPhone 5 Experiment Goes Viral (Video)

A video of "Jimmy Kimmel Live's" iPhone 5 experiment is currently getting viral online.

In the clip, a crew of the late-night talk show presents to random people on the streets of Hollywood an iPhone 4s, telling them that it is the newly-released iPhone 5.

The results were hilarious. People are praising the faux-iPhone 5 for being lighter and faster, not knowing that it is an older version of the iPhone.

"It’s a little thinner." one man said. "Looks like the screen is a little bit bigger."

Another man commented,  "It’s a lot higher quality. If you drop it, it looks like it’s not going to break" as he said his current phone had."

iPhone 5 Release Date Set For August 2012, Report Claims

iPhone 5 Release Date
iPhone 5 will be released in August, sooner than market expectation, Taiwan-based China Economic News Service (CENS) reported Wednesday.

Apple is expected to place orders with Taiwan component suppliers in July in preparation for its planned launch of the iPhone 5 in August, which is aimed at cashing in on back-to-school buying at the end of the summer vacation, the report said.

"With the European debt crisis overshadowing the busy season for consumer electronics in the third quarter, Apple has decided to advance the launch of iPhone 5 to tap business opportunities," wrote Philip Liu of the CENS. "Industry insiders noted that the supply chain for iPhone 5 will begin to activate in July before expanding shipment in August — Apple has called for suppliers to speed up shipment, overstraining the status of delivery."

The report also echoed the rumored features and specifications of the upcoming iPhone 5, including a thinner body, a larger screen, stronger Siri function and major changes in the design for connection wire and connector, which will stimulate procurement by consumers.

"iPhone 5 will enter the era of 4G communications, leading to greater need for power amplifier, which will integrate with converter, in order to achieve the features of lightness and thinness. Major supplier Skyworks will score even stronger momentum in shipment," the report added.

CENS, an affiliate of the United Daily News Group,is one of Taiwan's largest newspaper conglomerates. It owns several publications including CENS Lighting, Taiwan Machinery, CENS Hardware, CENS Furniture, and Taiwan Transportation Equipment Guide. FULL STORY...

iPhone 5 Commercial Reveals Transparent Apple Phone

iPhone 5 Commercial (Youtube)
A fake iPhone 5 commercial has gone viral online.

The said iPhone 5 commercial, which has attracted more than 1 million views since it was uploaded on Youtube a week ago, features an iPhone 5 concept phone with a completely transparent screen area, a laser-projected keyboard, and sharper-than-ever graphics.

The video was made by 17-year-old amateur designer Dakota Adney who hails from Oklahoma.

"Clearly amazing. The quad-core A5 chip delivers even more power. The laser projection keyboard liberates your thumbs. The new iClear Retina display presents sharp graphics and stunning images. iOS 6 will take your iPhone experience in an entirely new direction. And if there's anything else you need, just ask Siri," Adney wrote.

Apparently, the teen's vision of a transparent display as well as a laser-projected keyboard can't be expected from the upcoming iPhone 5 since these technology are not yet available.

Check out Adney's cool iPhone 5 commercial below:

iPhone 5 Release Date: Apple's Flagship Mobile Phone To Launch In September?

Leaked iPhone 5 Part (EtradeSupply)
The iPhone 5 release date was not revealed during Monday's Apple Worldwide Developers Conference but an analyst said the next-generation iPhone is likely to be launched in September.

KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo reportedly said that the iPhone 5 will be unveiled in September.

"We expect Apple to unveil iOS 6 GM (Golden Master) in early September," Kuo wrote in a note to investors obtained by AppleInsider. "Based on the release schedule for iOS 6 GM, there is a very good chance iPhone 5 will start shipping also in early September."

The analyst, who has a good record of reporting accurate information regarding unannounced Apple products, had earlier confirmed rumors that the iPhone 5 will feature a new 4-inch display that utilizes in-cell touchscreen technology.

Kuo added that the iOS 6 will offer better integration with iCloud and Facebook as well as with the iTunes store and the App store. FULL STORY...

iPhone 5 Rumored To Be Thinner, With Larger Screen

 iPhone 5 Concept Design (Urexsoft)
The iPhone 5 will reportedly feature a 20% thinner profile and a larger 4-inch screen. In addition, the new iPhone will sport a smaller dock connector and a scratch-resistant Gorilla Glass 2 on the front.

The report came from the Apple-focused technology blog iLounge.com which said that the measurements of the iPhone 5 are estimated at "125mm by 58.5mm by 7.4mm--a 10mm jump in height, nearly 2mm reduction in thickness, and virtually identical width."

"According to our source, Apple will make one major change to the rear casing, adding a metal panel to the central back of the new iPhone." iLounge wrote. "This panel will be flat, not curved, and metal, not ceramic."

It added that instead of the much hyped Liquid Metal, the new generation iPhone will instead feature “Gorilla Glass 2," a 2nd-gen Gorilla Glass that is thinner than the original version, yet still offer the same strength.

Liquid Metal inventor Dr. Atakan Peker also said in a recent interview that the chances of a Liquidmetal iPhone are slim as Apple is likely a long way from actually using the alloy in large scale projects.

The iLounge report also said that  the iPhone 5 will have a smaller dock connector with fewer pins.

It, however, did not mention anything about the release date of the new iPhone. Some reports suggest that it could be in June at Apple’s Worldwide Developer Conference, or as late as October. FULL STORY...
