The sequel will be released on September 27th on the said devices, with Windows Phone, Windows 8 and PC versions following shortly.
Officially named "Bad Piggies," the new game will feature an all new, never-before-seen gameplay. The trademark slingshot of the franchise will not be utilized in "Bad Piggies" and our avian allies will be the villains.
"There's a lot of empathy towards the lovable enemies from the Angry Birds games, and we've been constantly asked: what about the pigs' side of the story?" said Rovio CEO Mikael Hed. "Bad Piggies gives you the chance to play as the second-most-loved characters in the Angry Birds universe, and explore this rich world through their green eyes."
Angry Birds has been downloaded more than 700 million times, and is the fastest-growing game on Facebook. A movie featuring its characters is reportedly in the works.
Rovio is also working on a multiplayer version of the game. FULL STORY...
