The pair discovered the stash Wednesday on the seat of a train running between Oslo and a small town in southeastern Norway.

"When I opened the bag, the first thing I saw were these wads and wads of bills," said 16-year-old Bendik. "My first thought was to call the police."

Inside the bag, the teenagers also found the passport of  its owner, a man in his 70s who was contacted by the police and was expected to show up to claim his money Thursday.

Authorities said there is no foul play being suspected as to the gent's huge quantity of money. They added that they have not received any information whether the two teens had received a reward for their honesty.
