iPad Mini Coming This Fall? |
The analysts told the Business Insider that the long rumored smaller iPad, which is being referred to as the iPad Mini, will likely to be unveiled this fall.
"Following up on comments made last week, recent research still leads us to believe that Apple may be planning to add another form factor to its iPad line in the 7" range for the fall." said the Barclays analysts. "We believe that this type of product could be useful in promoting Apple's agenda in education with e-textbooks. Also, the form factor could make sense in gaming, which could become a bigger platform for Apple over time."
Citing "industry sources" Digitimes reported on Tuesday that the iPad Mini will be utilizing a new touch panel technology called the “G/F2" that allows the device to be thinner and cheaper than the previous iPads. Digitimes' sources added that "7-10 million units of the iPad Mini may be shipped this year."
According to previous rumors, Apple is aiming for a $200-$250 price point for the iPad Mini.
