Adele throws raising her middle finger | Photo: ITV
Adele showed her middle finger after her second acceptance speech was cut off by host James Corden at the 2012 Brit Awards on Tuesday.

The songstress later stressed that it was for industry leaders, not her fans.

"I'm sorry if I offended anyone but it was the suits that offended me," Adele said. "Thank you all very much and thanks to my fans. I don't want them to think I was swearing at them."

ITV, the show's broadcaster, has issued a statement apologizing to the singer for cutting her off.

"We regret this happened and we send deepest apologies to Adele that her big moment was cut short tonight due to the live show over-running," ITV said.

Adele was one of the big winners of the night, receiving 2 major awards - British Female Solo Artist and Album of the Year. She also performed her hit "Rolling In The Deep" during the show.
