Typhoon Dodong has entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) on Thursday morning, May 7, 2015, according to the PAGASA.

The state weather bureau said Typhoon Dodong's eye was located at 1,040 km East of Surigao City (10.2°N, 135.0°E) at 4:00am. Packing maximum sustained winds of 130 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 160 kph, the tropical cyclone is forecast to move West Northwest at 15 kph.

The typhoon is expected to be at the following areas in the coming days:

Friday morning: 685 km East of Guiuan, Eastern Samar;
Saturday morning: 450 km East of Catarman, Northern Samar; and
Sunday morning: 280 km Southeast of Casiguran, Aurora.

PAGASA added that Tyhoon Dodong will yield an estimated rainfall amount of heavy to at times intense within the 150-200km its radius.

No Public Storm Warning Signals have been issued as of this posting.
