Roy Alvarez Dead: Veteran Filipino Actor Passes Away At 63

Veteran Filipino actor Roy Alvarez has died Tuesday at the age of 63.

Alvarez' "Villa Quintana" co-star Maricar de Mesa broke the news on Twitter, tweeting "Just received a really sad sad news. RIP Tito Roy Alvarez aka Don Manolo Quintana."

Actress Gina Alajar also took to the popular microblogging site to express her sympathies to Alvarez' family.

"With sadness and grief, my heartfelt sympathies to the family of Mr Roy Alvarez, a good actor, a friend and a great person. I will miss you," Alajar tweeted.

Alvarez reportedly died after suffering a heart attack.

Apart from being an actor, Alvarez was also a director and a scriptwriter for movie, TV and theater. He was also part of the hit Kapuso teleserye "My Husband's Lover."

Alvarez is survived by his wife Nieves and daughter Miren.
