Former 6cyclemind Frontman Ney Dimaculangan Wins At 2012 Awit Awards

Ney Dimaculangan, formerly known as the vocalist of pop-alternative band 6cyclemind, was named as this year’s Awit Awards Best New Male Recording Artist for the song “Ligaw.”

With 6cyclemind, he was able to release five highly-successful albums with chart-topping hits such as “Sandalan”, “Sige”, “Prinsesa”, “Upside Down”, “Magsasaya”, “Kasalanan”, and kung wala na nga among others. Ney is now ready to venture into the music scene on his own.

His latest solo project, “Ney”, under Star Records showcases Ney’s versatility as a musician with all ten songs written, arranged, and produced by Ney himself. The album’s carrier single, “Ligaw”, is currently making its rounds on both radio stations and on music channel, Myx. Ney will soon be releasing his second single from his debut album.

Ney has also participated in special projects for both the movie and television industry, having penned songs included in the MMFF entry, “RPG Metanoia” (“Kaya Mo”) and in ABS-CBN’s top-rated teleserye, “Imortal” (“Walang Hanggan”), with the former winning the Best Theme Song award during the 2010 Metro Manila Film Festival.
