"Having been the 'Have you seen this?!' video of the last two months across the web, it's great to be able to award a record for this tremendously popular video." said Dan Barrett, Guinness World Records Community Manager. "In years past it was unthinkable that something  would be viewed a hundred million times, and now 'Gangnam Style' has achieved more than twice this figure in just 3 months on YouTube."

The closest competitors for the record include LMFAO's 'Party Rock Anthem' (more than 1.5 million likes), Justin's Bieber's 'Baby' (1.3 million) and Adele's 'Rolling in the Deep' (1.2 million).

PSY's video for his hit single, which has been viewed  for over 238 million times, is also the most viewed K-Pop video on YouTube.

Earlier this month, "Gangnam Style" became the first K-Pop song to take the #1 position on the iTunes chart. It was also nominated for Best Video at the upcoming 2012 MTV Europe Music Awards that will be held in Frankfurt, Germany.
